Thank you so much for repairing and returning our lovely Vienna Regulator, we are thrilled, it looks brand new and we are enjoying hearing it chime again.

What a thoroughly wonderful experience, I have never seen so many clocks in one place!

I’ve been looking for a grandfather clock for the last few years and have struggled to find anything I really like, I went to Abbotsbury for a weekend away walking and stumbled upon this hidden gem. There must have been 100 clocks ticking away, so much choice in one place, all beautifully restored and all the staff were really nice, helpful and not too pushy.

I have since bought my beautiful old grandfather clock, they came and set it up for me and it’s been ticking away ever since. A fantastic shop with a service to match.

I inherited an antique regulator clock from my father, which has been of sentimental value. Simon has restored the clock to its former glory, and it is now working perfectly and keeping good time.

I would definitely recommend The Clock Work Shop, Dorset. Simon’s knowledge and attention to detail has been excellent.

I saw The Clock Work Shop, Dorset, at the Dorset County Show last year. I entered their competition to win a free clock service, and won!

They were extremely professional and kept me up to date with what needed to be done for my clock. It’s great to have my clock back working again. I would highly recommend their services.Competition winner

I needed advice on the potential repair of an antique family clock. Simon was excellent and gave a sensible and considered report. Highly recommended.

I inherited an early 19th century clock in poor condition, which had been partially stripped down to a box of parts. The Clock Work Shop, Dorset, thoroughly cleaned and polished the works and case (taking care to preserve the valuable patina); machined replica parts to replace those missing or too worn; carefully re-assembled the pieces to working order; and adjusted the clock to keep good time. I now have a surprisingly good-looking, effective and valuable timepiece, instead of a box of bits in the loft!

Simon did a marvellous job in resurrecting this clock, and in restoring it to its proper condition. I highly recommend him, and would definitely use his services again. He is a skilled and knowledgeable craftsman, who takes great care with his work and delivers a first class job.

We inherited what looked like an interesting but sadly neglected long case clock from a recently deceased cousin.

The clock was in a pretty poor shape and it was obvious from the cobwebs and general dust inside that it had not been running for many years. Several vital parts were missing.

We handed over this rather unpromising looking collection of bit and pieces to Simon Allen of The Clock Work Shop, Dorset, who some weeks later drove up from Abbotsbury and presented me with a gleaming brass movement.

With the clock dial now re-silvered I could see this was an important London maker and after some careful adjustments, Simon re-united the case with its movement and set up the clock mechanism.

It was a total transformation and the old gentleman now keeps perfect time with a loud chime on the hour which thankfully can be silenced with a simple lever.

Mr Allen called, at my request, to look over my antique grandfather clock.  He was extremely polite & helpful and offered excellent advice on the way forward regarding the continued use of my clock.

I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone wishing to have their antique, or indeed modern, clock repaired.
