George III 30 Hour Painted Dial Longcase “Cottage” Clock Signed Norman of Poole
A fine example of a good quality “Cottage” clock. 10” painted dial with both Roman and Arabic numerals, Calendar and blued steel hands.
The well-built “birdcage” movement with anchor escapement, striking the hours on a bell, strangely having a rack striking system (as opposed to a count wheel striking system like most 30 hour longcase clocks) inside of a well-proportioned flat top solid pine case.
Serviced and guaranteed for 3 years.
Height: 78″ or 197 cm
CIRCA. 1780 – James Norman – Apprenticed to Ralph Norman 1761.
