The fine silvered, engraved dial signed “Gatward Tonbridge” featuring both Roman and Arabic numerals, with very fine blued steel hands, a strike/silent option within the break arch and subsidiary date dial above VI.
The robust clock movement being of 8-day duration, twin fusee striking with anchor escapement strikes the hours to a single bell situated above the movement via a rack and snail striking system. The clock has substantial plates bound together by knopped pillars with the back plate being nicely engraved around the boarder. The mahogany case is beautifully made with silk lined fish scale frets in both sides, glazed lockable doors to the front and back of the clock with a heavy brass carrying handle fixed above and brass ogee feet.
A very attractive table clock with stunning mahogany choice veneers which was made to the highest standards of craftmanship.
