Antique Petit Sonnerie Carriage Clock signed Dent.

An elegant French antique petit sonnerie carriage clock, quarter striking on two gongs with ‘grand sonnerie’ repeat. A stylishly gilded gorge case with bevelled glass all around the movement and a large rectangular glass to the top allowing visual access to all parts of this fine instrument.

The white enamel dial is signed ‘Examined by Dent, 33 Cockspur Street, London’. Still with its original, large, attractively silvered, Swiss Lever escapement platform sat at the top of the movement.
