Description
An eye catching, yet understated clock that portrays high quality.
The case is stunning, the whole clock case boasts choice cut veneers of flame mahogany. The front glazed door is surrounded with a chamfered double edge, carved foliate scrolled crest above, the under curved base of the clock has fine detailing and finishes in a half round strung bottom.
The high quality and finish of this case is superb and it is given added elegance by the slightly longer case style and restrained decoration.
The very fine two piece silvered dial with roman numerals and engine turning to both the inner and outer bezels, finished with finely shaped blued steel hands.
The movement is of the finest quality having arched shaped plates and fine wheel work with nicely shaped crossings. The clock is fully weight driven, of 8-day duration, grande sonnerie rack striking on two coiled steel gongs (Strikes the quarters on one gong and the hours on another, every quarter of an hour), with a strike/silent option, dead-beat escapement and a wood rod pendulum with brass bob.
