Exceptionally Rare Neptune Automata Longcase Clock by Bartley and Eggert of Bristol
A high quality longcase movement of 8 day duration strikes the hours to a bell with the original finely blued steel hands, subsidiary seconds and calendar to the dial. The finely painted 13” dial is signed by the makers and accompanies the rare sight of a rocking Neptune to the arch of the dial with anchors to each corner.
The case is made from some of the best flame veneers with fluted columns and Corinthian capitals to the hood with shell inlays to the swan neck pediments. The trunk encompasses inlays of boxwood and ebony.
