A fine, local, mahogany Longcase clock by John Sly of St Mary Street, Weymouth.
8-day weight driven movement, striking the hours on a bell with anchor escapement. The single sheet silvered brass dial features engraved, subsidiary seconds, calendar and a painted rocking ship (The Neptune) within the arch, together with a painted background.
The case is of mahogany with fine flame veneers, and three ball and spire finials. Complete with an old equation of time chart set upon the inside of the door to the case.
