Twin Chain Fusee English Striking Bracket Clock

An extremely fine striking bracket clock made with good quality thick solid brass plates and twin fusee, chain driven movement, striking the hours and a single strike for the half hour on a gong. The movement is un-signed.

The break-arch dial with matted centre, silvered engraved chapter ring with both Roman and Arabic numerals and subsidiary regulation dial at the 12 o’clock position, floral spandrels surrounding and finely cut blued steel hands.

The mahogany case has Flemish gilt feet, acanthus gilt mounts around the base, caryatid sculptured female figures either side of the door with a pagoda top and a floral brass finial, mounted on a break arch case with quartered corner acorn gilded finials and attractive pierced fret work. Also there are pierced silk lined frets to either side and to the rear door.
