A fine-quality 8-day timepiece with a chain-driven fusee movement. Anchor escapement with regulation by a ‘London’ style pendulum. The unsigned back plate features a pendulum lock to secure it during transport.
The square, silvered brass dial is enclosed within a silvered brass mask, and features engraved Roman numerals, floral swags to the corners, and the maker’s details, ‘John Walker, 76 The Strand, London, Serial No.3842’. Original, mismatching blued steel hands.
The case features fine rosewood veneers and is glazed all round, including the top. Locking front and rear doors.
