A stunning example of a London marquetry longcase clock. The walnut veneer case features bird and flower marquetry of the highest quality, barley twist columns and lenticle to the trunk door.
The movement of 8-day duration striking the hours to a bell via a count wheel striking system typical of the period. An 11” dial with beautifully silvered engraved chapter ring featuring both roman and arabic numerals, ‘cherub head’ spandrels, ringed winding arbors and calendar box, and original blued steel hands.
A highly attractive and outstanding piece from the golden age of clock making.
